Introducing Darryl Hatfield
The Mortgage Store itself started up in Milton Keynes 20+ years ago, so we have a lot of experience. I’m delighted to have become as Associate Partner in the operation. I operate out of Holywell, but covering areas ranging from Holywell, Mold, Chester, Deeside, Wrexham, Llandudno, Colwyn Bay, Rhyl, Prestatyn, The Wirral, Ellesmere Port, Runcorn, Warrington and many more locations. We can deal with clients nationwide using modern technology.
My Background
I personally have been in Financial Services since 1977 originally employed by TSB Bank PLC (became Lloyds TSB Bank PLC) as a Bank Official. I was involved with both Residential and Commercial lending. This was followed by various roles, all being mortgage , insurance and property related. In my time I’ve arranged thousands of mortgages. I’m pleased to have made a significant positive impact on clients lives.
Meet The Mortgage Store Holywell
Darryl Hatfield from The Mortgage Store introduces their Holywell-based branch.
My role as a Mortgage Broker is to assess the client’s information and discuss what their needs and aspirations are in terms of obtaining a mortgage. I then find the most suitable mortgage to fit those needs and aspirations.
Your local high street bank will only offer their own products, we offer products from a comprehensive range of lenders. We assess clients’ needs against the market and can often find a different mortgage lender at a cheaper rate, because we’ve got that wide range of lenders.
The market is an absolute minefield as any given Bank may well have several hundred products of their own. If you multiply that by the dozens of lenders that we deal with then there are many thousands of products. It’s almost impossible for a member of the general public to be able to assess all of those without it taking them hours and hours, so we save them a lot of time.
We obviously arrange the mortgage for clients but we can also refer them to appropriate Solicitors and chase other professionals in the process for them. It can be daunting for a client to keep picking up the phone, but we can speak to the Estate Agent with the client’s agreement, and chase the Mortgage Lender to make sure that the valuation is done on time. We can also refer clients in terms of their protection needs, for example, if they need life assurance or income protection.
Absolutely, I’ve been in this industry a long time and I’ve still got clients from many years ago. I’m a great believer that if you provide the right service to people they will come back to you, and potentially refer their children or relatives. I actually get very inspired by people’s stories and how they progress in life.
At the very start, because we can give them advice in terms of what they can borrow, what the likely costs will be, and we can get them an Agreement in Principle. An Agreement in Principle is proof on a piece of paper that shows an Estate Agent in particular that they have a mortgage agreed and are in a position to buy the property. This is particularly important in these times when properties are selling very quickly.
We operate nationwide and have a variety of means of helping people these days, things like telephone calls and Zoom meetings are now a regular event. Obviously if somebody is within around an hour’s travelling distance, I’m quite happy to go and see them if they wish.
North Wales is lovely, the scenery is absolutely fantastic, but property prices are low in comparison with Birmingham, and the coast is only a fifteen minutes drive away. We’ve got sheep walking on the road, but there are hills, beaches and trees and three cars is a traffic jam.
Yes. The Mortgage Store has been going for more than twenty years, and my background is in financial services, previously in banking and mortgages. I’m very pleased to have been made an Associate Partner in The Mortgage Store running the Holywell office and intend to make a real success of it.
I love mortgages, finding mortgages for people and helping people to achieve their dreams, goals and aspirations. It’s very rewarding irrespective of any income, just seeing people get to where they want to be is what made me want to do it.
Not at all! Just give me a ring, don’t be daunted, I believe I’m very approachable. Our initial consultation is completely free and any fees that we do charge (if any) are fair and reasonable. They are also only payable on completion of the mortgage.
No question is a stupid question and we’ll do our very best to to answer it in a manner that you will understand. If you need a mortgage or just general advice on a mortgage, give me a ring and we’ll do our absolute best to make it a worthwhile experience for you.
